Otro de los momentos de las Jornadas Internacionales de Comunicación fue la Mesa Redonda “Periodismo y Actitud Crítica” que congregó a Silvina Márquez de ZDF Televisión de Alemania, Daniel Moreno Chávez del Informativo Digital Animal Político de México y Olivia Sohr de Chequeado.com de nuestro país.
Coordinada por el docente de la Casa, Estanislao Giménez Corte, la mesa giró en torno a la temática de la tensión entre objetividad y subjetividad en el periodismo actual. En general los tres coincidieron en la superación de este debate.
En el caso de Daniel Moreno Chávez, “este debate no debiera existir, porque la objetividad en el periodismo simplemente no existe. Propongo cambiar el debate y apostar por la honestidad periodística. La sociedad debe exigir a los periodista que en el centro del debate esté la honestidad”.Por su parte Silvina Márquez sostuvo que “no se puede ser neutral en el periodismos y que la honestidad en el periodismo consiste en escuchar a todas las partes involucradas. Hay que escuchar todas las campanas”.
En tanto Olivia Sohr contó que el método aplicado por el equipo de Chequeado.com consiste es estar “permanentemente verificando lo que cada uno produce, pasando así por varios filtros. Si bien es cierto esto hace que el trabajo periodístico sea más complejo, esto facilita poder despegarnos de nuestras propias creencias.”
En otro tramo Moreno Chávez planteó “la necesidad de exigir a los periodistas veracidad, equilibrio y confirmación de la información. En México de cada 10 medios, 8 a 9 viven de la publicidad oficial, en este marco qué periodismo crítico puede hacer de parte de los que reciben estos fondos”.
